Marvin, This was the first (I don't know if it will be annual) race at the DuQuion Fair Grounds. The purpose of the race was to raise money for abused kids. The coarse is similar to the Marshall Browning 5k except that the coarse runs backwards and the hill section was eliminated. This made a lot of people happy. I finished with a time of 19:29 3rd/38 overall 1st in age 35-39. They had door prizes and plenty of food. A very good spread cookies, fruit, and pizza!!! A very nice race.
Well, the good news is I came in 6th overall. The bad news is I was 3rd in age 40-44. It's my own fault though. I have not been training like I should. Also, a guy passed me with about a quarter of a mile to go. I tried to keep up with him but he finished six or seven seconds ahead of me. Of course that was the guy that came in second in our age group. My final time was 21:13. I guess that isn't too bad, but oh well. Overall, it was a good race. They had a good spread of food and I got to talk to quite a few friends and other runners.

This dog followed me for about 1/3 of the race!! It would not leave me alone!!!
