Pinckneyville Fall Classic 8K Oct. 25 2008

(Marvin) Year number 3 since I took over as director for the Fall Classic 8K Run 5K Walk. I would say that this year it was a success. We set a new PR of 72 participates. The weather turned out great despite that it rained the two days before. I couldn't do this race without help, so I would like to say thanks to David my co-director who handles door prizes, and many other duties, his sister Paula who even though had twins still made the fancy cookies and had the customized bib numbers, Jenn my wife for doing the registration and tallying the results "a very big responsibility there" Jeremy for taking pictures and doing anything else we would ask, his wife Rachel for typing up the results (I was feeling lazy), Sara for also bringing cookies, our sponsors who help fiance the event (If you get a chance and are patronizing there business; thank them for sponsoring the race.), The NHS students for traffic control and water station, and thank you to anyone else that I might have missed. The biggest thank you I can give out is to all the runners who participated; because without you I couldn't have the race at all. See ya next year!

(David) This race turned out well, again. It seemed like this year we pulled in more local people to participate. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. There were a lot of friendly runners and spectators. Putting on this race can be challenging, so it is nice when it goes well and people leave happy, and maybe a little tired. Marvin changed the walking course a little, which seemed to go very well. He incorporated the fairground's walking path, which I thought was a good idea. Overall it went well and I hope we even more participants next year. If anyone has comments please let us know!
