Mito-What? 5K Belleville, IL April 7, 2007

Mito-What? 5K April 7, 2007 is the first race TeamDumb participated in for 2007. I (Marvin) ran a 20:43 coming in 2nd for the age group 30-34 & 7th/139.

Dave ran a 23:18 coming in 1st for the age group 35-39 & 19/139

This race took place at Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, IL and was one brutal course. It was a two loop course through the shrine with numerous big long hills. The day was cold with a strong biting wind. I (Marvin) enjoyed the challenge of it and am looking forward to doing it again. This was my 2nd race after my knee surgery in the end of February.

This was a tough race for me (David). The cold, wind and hills hurt. My time for each mile kept getting worse: 1st mile - 6:37, 2nd - 7:59, 3rd - 8:46. However, the award plaques were pretty cool. Also, if someone at the beginning of a race asks, "Are there any hills?", assume there are a lot of hills. It was not so much that there were huge hills, it's that they were never ending. I don't think there was a single flat area in the whole race. This was our first race at Our Lady of the Snows and we did not know what to expect, now we do. This was the second race I ran this year and the 11th time I ran since taking winter off.
